Chair Lewis Touts Export-Import Bank of the U.S.’ Efforts to Advance Global Energy Transition at International Economic Forum of the Americas Conference in Paris
Paris, France – Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis spoke about EXIM’s efforts to advance the global energy transition and the agency’s commitment to supporting nuclear energy and critical minerals projects at the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA) Paris Conference (CDP) earlier this week.
“Nuclear energy and critical minerals projects are essential parts of the global energy transition, and EXIM is committed to doing our part to make sure these important projects get off the ground,” said Chair Lewis. “It was a privilege to be at this conference to hold important discussions on the role our financing tools can play in supporting solutions that work towards a more sustainable future.”
On Tuesday, Chair Lewis participated in a ceremony to officially open the U.S. Pavilion at the World Nuclear Exhibition alongside U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission David McCawley and Dr. Kathryn Huff, Assistant Secretary of U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy. Chair Lewis also held a series of meetings with private sector companies, where she discussed EXIM’s financing tools and history of supporting transactions with foreign buyers in France.
On Wednesday, Chair Lewis took part in an IEFA panel focused on critical minerals and sustainability panel, where she discussed the unprecedented demand for critical minerals and the unique role EXIM financing can play in supporting U.S. exporters in the sector.
On Thursday, Chair Lewis hosted a roundtable discussion with representatives from AmCham France, where she spoke with business leaders about the agency’s financing tools and EXIM’s commitment to supporting U.S. exporters doing business in the region. On Friday, Chair Lewis also met with representatives from Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF) International.
