Export-Import Bank of the U.S. Chair Reta Jo Lewis Met with Local California Trade Groups to Boost Exports
San Francisco, California - Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis recently traveled to San Francisco and Napa Valley, California to hold a series of meetings with private sector groups and trade organizations, where she highlighted how EXIM’s financing tools can help California exporters grow and expand through exporting. While in California, Chair Lewis also highlighted how EXIM’s Make More in America initiative (MMIA) supports the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to reshore jobs, rebuild American manufacturing, and strengthen America’s supply chains.
“I enjoyed meeting with local organizations to highlight the work we have done so far to support California exporters and reiterate our strong desire to expand our reach in the state," said EXIM President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis. "Our Make More in America initiative is a unique and powerful tool that can support California wineries and businesses across the state expand their domestic manufacturing footprint through exporting, supporting good-paying American jobs in the process.”
While in San Francisco, Chair Lewis met with the World Affairs Council of Northern California and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, where she discussed opportunities for future collaboration to expand the scope of EXIM’s support for California exporters and ways to educate the business community about the agency’s financing tools.
Chair Lewis also highlighted EXIM’s capability when she addressed the World Affairs Napa Valley quarterly meeting, where she also highlighted the MMIA initiative and how the agency’s financing tools are uniquely suited to support American exporters. Chair Lewis’ visit took place in advance of National Manufacturing Week, which began on October 6th.
