WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) will hold the first meeting of its fiscal year 2004 Advisory Committee tomorrow, Dec. 18, 2003, at Ex-Im Bank headquarters, with a focus on middle market exporters. The meeting is open to the public.

Now in its 21st year, the Congressionally-mandated Advisory Committee helps Ex-Im Bank review policies and programs by providing input from various sectors of the economy. This year's committee has eight new members and six returning members. A fifteenth member will be added shortly to complete the committee.

The committee will conduct four meetings during fiscal 2004 to examine Ex-Im Bank's programs and make recommendations for enhancing service and value. This year's focus will be the characteristics and financial needs of middle market exporters in an economy where service exports play an ever larger role, and effective outreach techniques to serve the middle market.
