Minneapolis – Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Board Member Owen Herrnstadt traveled to Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota to hold meetings alongside Senator Amy Klobuchar with private sector companies and manufacturers to discuss the role of EXIM financing in supporting domestic manufacturers and good paying jobs in Minnesota. During the visit, Director Herrnstadt highlighted EXIM’s Make More in America (MMIA) initiative, a domestic manufacturing finance effort.

“It was a pleasure to visit the Twin Cities alongside Senator Amy Klobuchar to highlight the role EXIM financing can play in supporting U.S. manufacturers and good-paying jobs in Minnesota,” said EXIM Director Owen Herrnstadt. “EXIM is deeply committed to supporting Minnesota manufacturers and the jobs they create, and our Make More in America initiative is a critical tool which provides financing for domestic manufacturers, supports U.S. workers and helps bring supply chains home.”

Director Herrnstadt began his visit to Minnesota by participating in a roundtable hosted by Senator Klobuchar at St. Paul-based company, EcoLab. The roundtable was attended by local business and community leaders from a variety of sectors. During the roundtable, participants discussed the challenges and opportunities of ensuring strong domestic supply chains and supporting jobs, and the role EXIM financing can play in supporting Minnesota exporters.

Director Herrnstadt and Senator Klobuchar then toured Delkor Systems, an EXIM customer and Twin Cities-based company that manufactures packaging systems for product shelves in retail stores. Director Herrnstadt also met with representatives from Medtronic, a Minneapolis-based medical device company.
