EX-IM BANK DIRECTOR DAN RENBERG TO VISIT EL PASO, TEXAS
Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) Director Dan Renberg will encourage large and small companies in El Paso, Texas to use Ex-Im Bank financing to boost their export sales at an exporting seminar beginning at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2000 at the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce. The event is sponsored by the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce Business Resource Center in conjunction with the City of El Paso's Economic Development Office and Ex-Im Bank. El Paso Mayor Carlos Ramirez will participate in the event.

Renberg will kickoff the exporting seminar that will give the El Paso business community an opportunity to learn and obtain practical advice and information about Ex-Im Bank's export financing opportunities. Participants will also learn how to obtain short-term export credit insurance and pre-export working capital, and how to increase their company's level of exporting.
In the past five years, Ex-Im Bank loans, guarantees and insurance have helped 929 Texas companies in 126 communities to export $5.1 billion of goods and services. Nearly 70 percent of these transactions supported small businesses.
Ex-Im Bank is an independent U.S. government agency that helps finance the sale of US exports, primarily to developing markets throughout the world, by providing loans, guarantees, and export credit insurance. In fiscal year 1999, Ex-Im Bank helped to finance nearly $17 billion of U.S. exports worldwide.
