Amy Shinkman is the Vice President of the Export Credit Insurance division at the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (“EXIM Bank”).  Her group is responsible for underwriting EXIM’s short-term export credit insurance policies, including both single and multibuyer policies issued to exporters as well as to financial institutions.  She joined EXIM in January 2011 as the Director of Broker Relations, transferring to underwriting in 2013, first as a Senior Loan Officer and later as a Director managing the single buyer and bank-held insurance policies, assuming her current position in 2018.

Amy joined EXIM Bank after ten years in the private sector trade credit and political risk insurance industry.  She spent three years in Singapore as the Asia-Pacific Regional Manager for Atradius Special Products, after serving as a trade credit and political risk underwriter in the London market with NCM, AIG, and Atradius.  Amy began her career with the U.S. State Department covering Middle East economic issues in Washington DC and Tel Aviv.  She has an MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), a BA in East Asian Studies from Brown University, and a Japanese Certificate from Keio University in Tokyo.
