Export-Import Bank of the United States Hosts Joint Meeting of 2023-2024 Advisory Committees and Subcommittees to Kick Off EXIM Annual Conference
WASHINGTON, DC – The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) today hosted its second joint meeting with the 2023-2024 Advisory Committee, Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee and the Councils on Climate, China Competition, Small Business and Advancing Women in Business on the sidelines of EXIM’s 2023 Annual Conference.
EXIM President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis expressed her gratitude for the insight and recommendations from the committees and councils as they contribute to the fulfillment of EXIM’s mission.
“I am thrilled to host our second joint meeting of our advisory committees and councils as we kick off this year’s Annual Conference,” said Chair Lewis. “The expertise of each member of these groups is invaluable as each committee and council comes together to work towards our shared goal of bolstering U.S. exporters and increasing their competitiveness worldwide. The recommendations that are borne from these committees shape the way EXIM functions as we navigate an ever-evolving global landscape while supporting the priorities of the Biden-Harris Administration and furthering our mission.”
Following her remarks, the committee and council members heard from subject matter experts representing Wisconsin and West Virginia as they discussed how to connect local businesses to worldwide customers, further empowering them to compete in the global marketplace. Subsequently, the U.S. Department of State’s Special Representative for City and State Diplomacy within the Office of Global Partnerships, Daniel Ricchetti, briefed the group on the critical role state and local governments play in the mutual effort to reinforce the domestic supply chain and reshore American jobs.
The presentation was followed by a brief question and answer discussion before adjournment by Senator Heidi Heitkamp, Chair of EXIM’s Advisory Committee. Individual sessions were then held for each of the six committees and councils, which featured presentations from senior members of EXIM staff.
