Biography

Ms. Michelle Arias is an experienced HR professional with over 25 years of experience across the Federal Government. Prior to joining EXIM, Ms. Arias was the Director of the Office of Human Capital Management for NOAA Fisheries. She began her work in human capital management in 2012 as the Deputy Director for the State Department’s Office of Recruitment, Examination and Employment. She later served as an HR Bureau Deputy Director in the Office of Shared Services and as the Deputy Director for the Office of Policy Coordination focused on Department-wide human resource strategic planning. Ms. Arias started her public service career as a civilian with the U.S. Army South in Panama and subsequently served nine years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She is a Distinguished Graduate from the National Defense University where she earned a Master’s in Strategic Security Studies and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Louisiana State University.
