EXIM Chairman Kimberly Reed Meets with Gov. Mike Dunleavy of Alaska to Outline EXIM Solutions for Alaska Exporters
ANCHORAGE - Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) President and Chairman Kimberly A. Reed yesterday joined Governor Mike Dunleavy of Alaska and National Security Advisor Ambassador Robert O'Brien for a discussion that focused, in part, on Alaska's economic growth.
Chairman Reed and Governor Dunleavy discussed how EXIM's financing options can help Alaska companies, both large and small, grow through the export of "Made in the USA" goods and services.
Chairman Reed highlighted EXIM's new All America Initiative. The initiative focuses on reaching, educating, and informing U.S. companies of all sizes-particularly small businesses-about how they can utilize EXIM's financing tools and resources to increase their international sales, showcase their "Made in the USA" products, and sustain American jobs. EXIM Chairman Kimberly Reed and Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy at an evening meeting at Ted Stevens International Airport, Anchorage, Alaska.
On September 15, 2020, EXIM, in partnership with the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, Alaska SBDC, Export Council of Alaska, and Alaska MEP Center, hosted a webinar, Export Expansion: Trade Finance Solutions for U.S. Exporters, for Alaska businesses.
Chairman Reed also discussed EXIM's historic, seven-year Congressional reauthorization, which was signed into law by President Trump on December 20, 2019, and the agency's new "Program on China and Transformational Exports," which focuses on neutralizing China and advancing America's comparative leadership, including through the export of U.S. goods and services from key transformational industries.
The meeting with Governor Dunleavy was the first stop on a U.S. delegation visit to Southeast Asia led by Ambassador O'Brien to advance economic growth and national security cooperation in the region.
