Washington, D.C. - Today at EXIM headquarters Kimberly A. Reed, president and chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) met with Geetha Muralidhar, chairman-cum-managing director of ECGC Ltd., an export credit agency (ECA) of the government of India. The bilateral meeting between the ECA heads took place during the week of the 2019 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) in Washington, D.C.

Chairman Reed and Chairman-cum-Managing Director Muralidhar articulated their mutual interest in reaffirming a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the two export credit agencies in 2017. Under the MOU still in effect, EXIM and ECGC agreed to exchange information on trade and business opportunities to facilitate procurement of U.S. and Indian goods and services by both state-owned and private-sector enterprises in the United States and India. The two agency heads discussed ways that their respective institutions could coordinate under the MOU framework to alleviate technical obstacles to doing more business. They also expressed the priority that each agency places on transparency and their shared desire to see greater transparency among all ECAs globally.
