Penn International Associates, Inc. Awarded 2024 Broker of the Year at Export-Import Bank of the United States Annual Conference
Washington, DC – Today, as a part of its 2024 Annual Conference, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) awarded Penn International Associates, Inc. its Broker of the Year award in recognition of their work as a specialty trade credit and political risk insurance brokerage firm. This is the first time the company has received this award in its 30-year history.
Based in San Antonio, Texas, Penn International is 100% minority-woman-owned and led. Penn International is a Platinum-tiered broker, the highest tier attainable by production numbers and only applicable to 16 of the 61 EXIM-registered brokers in the nation. As a result of the company’s commitment to U.S. exporters, Penn International has brought hundreds of companies to EXIM for the use of the Exporter Credit Insurance and Working Capital Guarantee programs.
“The first few years were challenging as we built our book of business,” said Mina Penn. “Relationships with EXIM staff in the regional offices and DC were very helpful. Having a broker relations officer and referral system are key to our continued success.”
“Penn International has long been an important factor to EXIM’s overall continued success,” said EXIM President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis. “A small business in its own right, we are immensely grateful for their dedication to promoting EXIM products as a solution for their small business clients and are pleased to present them with this long overdue recognition.”
