Lizarraga

A native of St. Albans, West Virginia, Caitlin joined the West Virginia Department of Economic Development in 2007in the Export Promotion Program. In her role, she has organized and led more than 20 trade missions to promote WV exports to dynamic, international markets, such as Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand. Each year, she coordinates the Governor’s Commendation for International Market Entry Awards, which recognizes exporters for their first sale to a new market. In between trade events, you can find her writing content for the Export Promotion Program newsletter, Trade Talk, counseling West Virginia exporters during outreach efforts, organizing export educational seminars and webinars, and serving as the Treasurer for the West Virginia District Export Council. She also serves as WV Export Promotion Program liaison to the State International Development Organizations (SIDO) and EXIM Bank Regional Export Promotion Program.

She received undergraduate degrees in International Affairs and Theater from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and completed her MBA from the University of Charleston. While at Sweet Briar she spent a semester abroad in China studying at Beijing Foreign Studies University. She passed the Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) Exam in May 2012 and received the SIDO Advanced Certificate in Global Trade Development in 2021.
