Tracy Gray

Tracy D. Gray is a leader in the movement towards equity and justice in the financial sector. With a passion for working at the intersection of private capital and economic development, her primary focus is around solutions that move capital to women and Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC), especially Black, Indigenous and women of color (BIWOC). Ms. Gray is the Founder and Managing Partner of The 22 Fund (The 22), an impact, early-growth firm with a holistic approach to investing. The 22’s mission is to create the clean, quality jobs of the future in low- and moderate-income communities by increasing the export capacity of tech-based manufacturing companies, intentionally targeting women- and BIPOC-owned businesses.  She is a Board of Director of Applife Digital Solutions, Inc (ADLS), a publicly traded, fully reporting start-up incubator and portfolio manager, and of the California State University, Dominguez Hills Philanthropic Foundation endowment, where she serves as Treasurer/Secretary on the Investment Committee. Ms. Gray is also a member of PGIM Real Estate’s Impact Advisory Council. Additionally, Ms. Gray serves on Melinda Gates’ Pivotal Venture’s Women of Color Advisory Council and numerous global-steering committees focused on the intersection of finance and multiple issues including technology, climate, gender, race and manufacturing. Ms. Gray is the first Social Impact Fellow at the UC Berkeley Haas Business School’s Center for Equity, Gender and Leadership. Ms. Gray was also an Executive-in-Residence at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) where she advised start-ups on all aspects of their businesses and led initiatives to increase diversity and equity in the cleantech and tech sectors. In addition, Ms. Gray is the founder of the nonprofit We Are Enough (WAE). In 2015, Ms. Gray gave a TEDx Talk entitled “Why It's Time for Women to Be Sexist with Investment Capital.” Due to the response from her TEDx Talk, Ms. Gray founded We Are Enough. WAEs only mission is to increase generational wealth for women by educating ALL women, at every economic level, globally, how and why to invest in women-owned/led businesses or with a "gender lens" on the capital markets. WAE recently released the study Creating LAIA: The Feasibility of a Women-Focused Incubator and Accelerator in Los Angeles and was chosen by Variety magazine as a global 50 most "impactful" nonprofits.
